Kananga has new bet for Miss U-PH
KANANGA, Leyte: The Miss Universe Philippines Kananga Organization has formally announced on Thursday, February 29, that Phoebe Arrianna Torita will be the town’s representative in the national competition.
In a statement, the Miss Universe Philippines Kananga Organization said that sending a representative to Miss Universe Philippines (MUPH) is a difficult task as it demands enormous efforts, hard work, and sacrifices from both the representative and the organization.
“Despite the time constraints, we have chosen to reaffirm our commitments, returning to our primary purpose: to send a representative to Miss Universe Philippines 2024 to showcase and promote Kananga and to fulfill someone’s dream,” the statement said.
“We could have chosen an easier route — to stop, but we have decided to move forward with love and perseverance,” it added.
Miss Universe Philippines-Kananga Natasha Jung withdrew from the upcoming Miss Universe Philippines 2024 as an official representative of the Municipality of Kananga on February 22 for personal reasons.
“Therefore, it is with immense pride, honor, and excitement that we announce Ms. Phoebe Arrianna Veloso Torita as the new Miss Universe Philippines-Kananga 2024,” the statement said.
April Tanhueco, MUPH accredited partner for Kananga, expressed her full support for Torita.
“Arrianna, God has brought you to Miss Universe Philippines for a reason. I will be with you and the rest of Kanangahanon every step of the way,” Tanhueco said in an interview with The Manila Times.
“Always carry the Kanangahanon’s spirit with you — open-minded yet principled, humbled yet confident. We may have the shortest preparation, but we have unwavering faith, so I know you will do well,” she added.
Eastern Visayas would have three candidates for national finals: Angel Rose Tambal (Leyte), Tamara Ocier (Tacloban) and Phoebe Arrianna Torita (Kananga).
