PRC, RMN’s Dugtong-Buhay Caravan draws blood donors in Laguna

-

RESIDENTS of Barangay Quinale in Paete, Laguna, came to participate in the second bloodletting activity of the Philippine Red Cross (PRC) and Radio Mindanao Network (RMN) Foundation last February 22.

Dubbed “Dugtong-Buhay 2024 Caravan,” the blood donation drive collected a total of 40 blood units.

Earlier this year, the two organizations conducted similar activity at the PRC’s national headquarters.

The co-organized blood donation activities were a testament to the PRC and RMN Foundation’s commitment to serving the public together.

Rene Bagamasbad, Laguna provincial health officer, expressed gratitude to the PRC and RMN for their initiative.

He said the PRC and its two blood banks in the province significantly contributed to Laguna, meeting the minimum target of 1 percent of its population voluntarily donating blood, fulfilling the most basic requirements for blood.

PRC Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Richard “Dick” Gordon expressed gratitude to the blood donors.

Gordon said: “Your contribution means a lot in our drive to make blood available everywhere across the Philippines, especially for those in need, helping us pave the way for a universal access to safe blood supply.”

Present in the initiative were PRC Laguna Chapter Chief Administrator Frank Gray Sorromero, RMN Foundation’s Corporate Social Responsibility Officer Patrick Aurelio and Municipal Administrator Carlos Miguel Cosico.

For blood donations, blood requests, and other inquiries, email the PRC National Blood Services at nbs.recruitment@redcross.org.ph or contact the PRC Blood Call Center, which may be reached nationwide by dialing 143.
