PHILHEALTH LAUNCHES POSTER-MAKING CONTEST
IN celebration of National Health Insurance Month and its 29th anniversary, PhilHealth Region 3 (Central Luzon) Office launched the Reel-Making and Digital Poster Making Competition for Grade 8 students and college students at the Queen Pia’s Place in Telabastagan, City of San Fernando, Pampanga on Feb. 28, 2024.
With “Damang-dama ko ang Benepisyo” as its theme, the celebration saw the presentation by the Social Health Insurance Education Series (Shines) of several enhanced benefit packages of PhilHealth.
Antonio Arquero of DepEd Regional Office 3 attended the celebration also graced by Francis Dominic de Guzman of CHEd RO 3, PIA-Central Luzon regional director William Beltran and some members of media from Central Luzon.
During the presentation and discussion updates and press briefing, Arlan Granali, acting branch manager of PhilHealth PRO 3-Branch 2, said that the event’s objective was to maintain great partnership between PhilHealth, educators, students, and media in promoting Universal Health Care and PhilHealth programs.
The agency wanted to engage partner agencies to include the PhilHealth Learner’s Material in their communication platforms for dissemination.
At the press conference, Granali announced the enhanced benefit packages offered by PhilHealth which include the expansion and institutionalization of hemodialysis for CKD 5 patients, increased coverage for ischemic and hemorrhagic stroke, high-risk pneumonia, and cataract surgery per year.
Also as part of the 29th year anniversary, PhilHealth formally launched its Reel-Making contest for Grade 8 and Digital Poster Making for college students.
With the collaboration of the Department of Education (DepEd) and the Commission on Higher Education (CHEd) in Region 3, the submission of entries for Grade 8 students in the reel-making contest is open until March 31, 2024, while the Digital Poster Making Contest open to college students can submit until March 15, 2024.
The said agency will recognize the top 17 finalists as well as the winners at PhilHealth’s 30th anniversary celebration in 2025.
According to Granali, as of December 2023, a total of 12.62 million Filipinos are registered with the Health department, or 98 percent of the 12.89 million population.
This year, regionwide PhilHealth Konsulta Caravans will be conducted in collaboration with the agencies of LGUs, DoH, DSWD, health care providers, barangay health workers, and other partner agencies.
