Bacoor, LTO to sign MoA for traffic management modernization
BACOOR CITY, Cavite: The city government here under Mayor Edwin “Strike” Revilla is set to sign a memorandum of agreement (MoA) with the Land Transportation Office (LTO) today to modernize the traffic management and law enforcement in the area.
The MoA signing, to be held at the Revilla Hall of the Bacoor City Hall in Molino Boulevard, will make Bacoor as the pioneering city outside of Metro Manila to adopt the LTO-LGU Interconnectivity initiative.
Mayor Revilla has been a strong proponent of this innovative program, recognizing the need for an enhanced traffic management system that promotes transparency and efficiency.
The LTO-LGU Interconnectivity embodies a significant upgrade in the enforcement of traffic laws, where real-time data from the LTO’s database are now accessible through the handheld devices used by Bacoor’s traffic enforcers.
With the implementation of the new system, Bacoor’s traffic personnel can now issue traffic violation receipts on the spot as the receipts are directly linked to the motorist’s record with the LTO.
This integration ensures that demerit points are promptly assigned to the driver’s license upon the commission of a traffic violation.
The system aligns with the guidelines set forth by Republic Act 10930, obligating the city government to report captured driver data to the LTO. Consequently, drivers at risk of accumulating demerit points may no longer be eligible for the 10-year validity license and could face license suspension or revocation.
The local government unit (LGU) under Revilla is dedicated to the City of Bacoor’s progression and welfare of its citizens.
The LTO-LGU Interconnectivity program not only streamlines the ticketing process but also introduces a more accessible approach for violators to pay fines online, thereby reducing the inconvenience of physical transactions.
This initiative also aims to combat and eliminate street-level corruption, ensuring that Bacoor’s roads are safer and its traffic law enforcement is beyond reproach.
The City of Bacoor is eager to set a new standard in traffic management, with Mayor Revilla at the forefront of this transformative project.
