TWO BIG DRUG PUSHERS NABBED IN QUEZON

City: Two high-value drug pushers were arrested during a buy-bust conducted by operatives of various law enforcement agencies on Wednesday, March 6, in Barangay Ilayang Iyam in Lucena City.
The suspects were identified as alias Macho, 43, and alias Jugs, 29, residents of Barangay Ibabang Dupay, Lucena City, who were arrested after selling a shabu to police personnel acting as buyer.
Both suspects are listed as high-value individuals in the Lucena City Police Station Drug Watchlist.
The operation was carried out at around 9 p.m. by joint operatives of the Lucena City Police Station (CPS), Quezon Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), Quezon Provincial Intelligence Branch, Quezon Maritime Police, Quezon Criminal Investigation and Detection Group, and the
Regional Intelligence Unit-Quezon Provincial Intelligence Team.
Recovered from the suspects were two plastic bags containing 85.36 grams of shabu valued at P1,741,344, and the money used in the buy-bust.
The suspects and the confiscated pieces of evidence were brought to the Quezon Provincial Forensic Unit for drug testing and laboratory examination.
The two suspects are detained under the custodial facility of Lucena CPS, while complaints for violation of Section 5 and 11, Article II of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002) against them are being prepared for filing with the Office of the City Prosecutor, Lucena City.
BGen. Paul Kenneth Lucas, regional director of Police Regional Office Calabarzon, lauded the successful arrest of the two drug pushers.
“These efforts highlight our determination to eradicate the menace of illegal drugs from our communities,” said Lucas.
“With strong collaboration and partnership with our law enforcement bodies, we showcase our steadfast commitment and dedication in making this region a safer place to live, work and do business,” the Region 4A top policeman added.
