At least 2,000 residents in this northernmost town of the province received medical, legal and other forms of assistance under the “Bagong Pilipinas Mini Serbisyo Fair” held on Saturday, March 9, at the Barangay Lipay Elementary School.

The one-day fair was a collaboration between Zambales 2nd District Rep. Doris “Nanay Bing” Maniquiz and the Tingog Party-list, under the leadership of House Speaker Ferdinand Martin Romualdez.

During the event, the beneficiaries were given free medical and dental consultations. The medical team also performed circumcision, eye check-up, tooth extraction and minor surgeries for free. Other services were also given for free like legal advice and haircuts.

In her speech, Maniquiz appealed to the healthy residents of Santa Cruz to donate blood in exchange for food packs.

“The blood donation drive was a collaboration with the National Red Cross to expedite the provision of blood to those in need in our province,” the lawmaker said.

Maniquiz recognized the unity and leadership of those involved in the project, stressing that the cooperation of local organizations and officials, especially Romualdez and Gov. Hermogenes “Jun” Ebdane, made the project successful.

“Let us not forget the support given by the Tingog Party-list, together with the household of Speaker Romualdez, Congresswoman Yedda Marie, for the many more upcoming aid and funds they have brought here to benefit more people in our province,” Maniquiz added.

Maniquiz likewise expressed her heartfelt gratitude to the medical staff, volunteers, and everyone behind the service fair.

“Our assistance does not end here. Therefore, we will bring our Bagong Pilipinas Mini Serbisyo Day, to every town in the second district of Zambales. We will bring free medical, financial and legal services to our fellow countrymen,” she said.
