- NICOLE ANNE D.G. BUGAUISAN

CREAMLINE seeks to extend its winning streak to four when it faces new team Strong Group Athletics (SGA) in the Premier Volleyball League (PVL) 2024 AllFilipino Conference today at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig.

The Cool Smashers were unstoppable in their previous game against the Galeries Tower High Risers 25-22, 25-17, 25-15 as Kyle Negrito led the pack with 18 excellent sets last Tuesday, March 5.

Michele Gumabao made 10 points, while team captain Alyssa Valdez scored 8 points to further assert their dominance as the defending champions.

Coming off from a loss, SGA will try to stage an upset versus the heavily favored Creamline as Mary Joy Onofre and Dolly Versoza are picking up the phase after leading their team with 12 and 11 points, respectively, versus the Capital 1 Solar

Spikers.

The Athletics will try to pull a trick up their sleeves to shock the Cool Smashers in their match at 2 p.m.

Meanwhile, the Nxled Chameleons and Galeries are both win-hungry to finally end their three-game losing skid misery.

In their previous match, the Chameleons scared PLDT in the last set as they pulled a 12-2 run before finally absorbing 21-25, 17-25, 21-25 defeat last Thursday, March 7.

Nxled’s Jhoana Maraguinot put up 11 points backed by team captain Dani Ravena’s defense of 12 excellent digs and nine excellent receptions.

With Galeries coming off from a tough match against the defending champions, the High Risers will try to vent on Nxled at 6 p.m.

But Ysa Jimenez, who put up 11 points in their match against Creamline, will need more help if the High Risers want to end

their slump.
