Flying Titans shoot for 5th straight win
CHOCO Mucho eyes to keep their record flawless in the Premier Volleyball League (PVL) 2024 All-Filipino Conference, but this will not be a cakewalk as it tackles a tough PLDT side today, March 19, at the Filoil EcoOil Centre in San Juan.
After four consecutive wins in the league, Choco Mucho has the opportunity to be the lone undefeated team while PLDT (3-1) aims to join the logjam of Petro Gazz and Creamline which all both have an identical 4-1 win-loss record.
Choco Mucho’s high-leap gunner Sisi Rondina led her squad with 23 points against the Cignal HD Spikers. 27-18, 25-20, 25-21 last Thursday, March 14.
But PLDT has their own fiery hitter Savannah Davison to respond to Rondina, as Davison scored 22 points against Capital 1 25-13, 25-15, 25-16 last Tuesday, March 12.
A face off between Rondina and Davison will be seen at 6:00 p.m.
With Choco Mucho facing PLDT in its fifth game in the tournament, Rondina sighed and showed respect to the High Speed Hitters.
“With PLDT, we’re going to work, and we are back to the drawing board,” Rondina said.
Head coach Dante Alinsunurin shared the same sentiment for their upcoming clash with PLDT.
“For PLDT, we are going to work of course. We will continue with the program that we started and everyday we look for adjustments that we have to make. We will rest first, but we have to really work,” Alinsurin said.
At 4:00 p.m., the Strong Group Athletics (SGA) will aim to accomplish an underdog story as they will face the Cignal HD Spikers.
Cignal who came off from a loss against Choco Mucho 2518, 25-20, 25-21 last Thursday, March 14, eyes to bounce back stronger.
Meanwhile, SGA is hungry to capture their first win in PVL after suffering four consecutive losses.
Cignal will have Ces Molina, Vanue Gandler and Rose Doria to lead the offense, while SGA’s Dolly Versoza, Justine Rebleza and Sheeka Espinosa will keep up with the gunners of Cignal.
