Raymond Lauchengco hits COD stage tonight
RELIVE the ‘80s at the Raymond Lauchengco Live Concert tonight at CenterPlay, City of Dreams Manila.
Popular matinee idol and balladeer Lauchengco is the sixth OPM icon to headline the monthly one-night performances at the CenterPlay Concert Series.
Music fans will certainly swoon over his hit songs “So It’s You” and “Farewell,” from the original soundtrack of the ‘80s coming-of-age film “Bagets” which he also starred in and propelled him among the heartthrobs of that decade.
On top of the ‘80s playlist are his sentimental tunes “I Need You Back,”“Saan Darating ang Umaga,” “Shadow of Time,” and songs from his eight critically acclaimed and commercially successful albums including “The Promise” which features the carrier single “Nothing’s Gonna Change my Love for You.”
He was the Philippine representative to the prestigious Tokyo Music Festival in 1987 and has performed in over 30 countries as a concert and recording artist through the decades. He also directed numerous international live events and documented both his personal and business travels in digital and film photographs.
He was the recipient of the 2007 Aliw Award for Best Concert Collaboration for the concert series, The Best of Us, with Ayen Laurel. The singer has also acted in various theatrical productions, television shows and films. A multi-faceted artist, he recently ventured into creating unique wood metal art sculptures and functional artworks.
Raymond Lauchengco Live at CenterPlay follows the series of sold-out concerts of other featured OPM icons namely Janno Gibbs, Rey Valera, Ice Seguerra, “Soul Siren”Nina, and The CompanY.
