Police outreach benefits 4,606 Tarlaqueños
THE Tarlac Police Provincial Office (TPPO) has conducted 103 community outreach activities in the province in the first quarter this year, where a total of 4,606 individuals benefited.
Food packs, rice, water, school supplies and other necessities were given away in the outreach program held in partnership with TPPO’s stakeholders. Community activities such as school visitation, scholarship distribution, awarding of livelihood grants, and medical missions highlighted the program.
LtCol. Philip Antang, deputy provincial director for Operations, said that TPPO’s target was at least one community outreach activity every week to extend such assistance to more communities.
“TPPO focused on providing government services, especially to those who are in need in far-flung areas. We make it possible by bringing these services to communities in different municipalities,” said Antang.
Col. Miguel Guzman, TPPO provincial director, urged the cooperation, unity, and compassion of every Tarlac resident to maintain peace and safety in the province.
“Peace is crucial in attaining development and progress. Each of us has a role to play in sustaining peace and order in Tarlac. Together, let us protect the peace in our province,” he added.
TPPO also partnered with the Foreign National Keepers Network to provide goods and services to indigenous communities and police dependents in the towns of Bamban, Capas, San Clemente and San Jose.
Meanwhile, Guzman also encouraged the media sector to help the police identify communities in need of their assistance. He sounded the call during the oath-taking ceremony for the newly established Camp Macabulos Media Group.
He said the media sector should take its commitment as bearer of truthful information and educate the people about the events unfolding in the community.
“Empower people through responsible journalism to bring positive changes. Be champions of democracy and continue to be the voice of the people,” Guzman told reporters.
