ROTARY International District 3830 and The Manila Times on Thursday signed a media partnership for the District Conference (Discon) 2024.

The conference, an annual fellowship of Rotarians across the rotary clubs in the district, will be held on May 10-11 at the Grand Plaza Ballroom of Sofitel Philippine Plaza in Pasay City.

With the theme “Forging Partnerships, Taking Flight,” the conference will feature a Rotary showcase, where various achievements of the clubs will be shared among the group.

District 3830 is one of the 10 Rotary districts in the Philippines, which carry out service projects to change the lives of the underprivileged.

There are 118 Rotary Clubs in Makati, Taguig, Parañaque, Las Piñas, Muntinlupa, Pateros, and the province of Palawan.

The partnership was signed by The Manila Times Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Dante “Klink” Ang 2nd, Rotary International District 3830 Gov. Antonio “Jay” Tambunting and Discon 2024 Chairman Gil Chua.

The Manila Times will help disseminate the Rotary’s plans, goals and advocacies.

There will also be leadership and learning sessions, fellowships, recognitions and partnerships with nongovernment organizations for the project of Fiscal Year 2024-2025, which will start on July 1.

Rotary Club of Makati-West Secretary Mon Guerrero said most of their projects are focused on providing accessible health care.

The flagship project is providing free heart surgeries for indigent children.

Guerrero said 20 years after the project started in 2004, the “Gift of Life” project has saved over 1,500 patients in partnership with hospitals like the Delos Santos Medical Center, Children’s Medical Hospital and Philippine General Hospital.

The projects are funded by grants and the support of donors and members across the globe.
