Mega medical center unveiled in Cavite City
CAVITE CITY: The Cavite City Medical Care Mega Health Center — arguably the biggest health center in Calabarzon (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal and Quezon) — was unveiled on Friday, March 22, with a ceremony attended by Health Secretary Teodoro Herbosa and Rep. Ramon “Jolo” Revilla 3rd of Cavite’s first district.
Situated at Sea Breeze, a sitio in Barangay 28 in this city, the threestory, 100-bed center is a joint priority project of Rep. Revilla and father Sen. Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr.
In his message of acceptance, City Mayor Denver Reyes Chua expressed his gratitude to the Revillas for the completion of the health facility which is expected to provide outpatient, diagnostic, birthing and pharmacy services (and infirmary soon), and deliver free, accessible and quality health care services to the Caviteños.
Also present during the ceremonial ribbon-cutting were assistant secretary Ariel Valencia, Cavite City Vice Mayor Releigh Rusit and Board Member Ram RevillaBautista, and other local officials.
Herbosa considered this project the biggest health center in Calabarzon region with complete facilities soon.
The said newly constructed building has delivery and recovery rooms, operating rooms, pharmacy, doctors’ room, emergency, medical records and outpatient room.
Representative Revilla highlighted in his opening message the hope that the new facility will answer the needs of the district’s growing population and resolve the problem of overcrowded hospitals and limited health services.
“Ang noo’y pangarap lang natin, ngayon ay nagkatotoo na. Lalo pa nating aayusin at pagagandahin ang serbisyo ng pasilidad na ito para sa bawat Caviteño (What was before our dream has become a reality now. We will continue to streamline the services of this facility for every caviteño),” said Representative Revilla.
Secretary Herbosa reassured the public that the Department of Health will continue its commitment to improving the quality of health services in the country and will support the efforts of local government officials and units to alleviate poverty through the 8-point action agenda of the department.
“Ang pagtatayo ng mga Mega Health Center tulad nito ay isang pamamaraan upang maabot natin at mapalakas ang universal health care. Dahil sa Bagong Pilipinas, ang bawat buhay ay mahalaga (The construction of mega health center like this is one way to strengthen our universal health care. Because of Bagong Pilipinas, every life is precious),” said Herbosa in his message.
Herbosa also pledged to work on the immediate provision of necessary equipment to ensure the efficiency of the new facility.
Immediately after the turnover ceremony, the blessing of a new ambulance and the whole building premises were held.
The building, constructed over a 1,500-square-meter government property here, is expected to be fully operational in April.
