SC to set up management office in Region 3

- CELSO M. CAJUCOM

PALAYAN CITY, Nueva Ecija: The Supreme Court is planning to set up a Regional Court Management (RCM) office in Central Luzon to unload administrative responsibilities of the trial court judges and to underline the importance of technology.

Chief Justice Alexander Gesmundo made the announcement on Tuesday, March 19, during the inauguration of two new Hall of Justice buildings, a family court in Palayan City and a metropolitan trial court in Bongabon town.

The RCM is empowered to provide the Court with data analytics to help in policy formulation and in identifying problem areas, Gesmundo said.

It can also identify performing and hardworking judges as well as those who are not performing well.

Gesmundo also said that the goal of the judiciary is not just to ensure that justice is made accessible to all, but also to make the delivery of justice faster and more affordable.

“We are going to change the system, the RCM is the answer to solve the common problem of the Trial Court judges in all regions which will lessen their administrative functions, and they can focus on their judicial works,” he said.

In Palayan City, Gesmundo was joined by Mayor Viandrei Nicole Cuevas, Court Administrator Raul Villanueva and Executive Judge Emelita DC Miranda Portillo during the ribbon-cutting ceremony and the unveiling of markers for the hall of justice.

In Bongabon, the chief justice was assisted by Mayor Ricardo Padilla, Presiding Judge Cheryl Gamalindan Encinares and Villanueva.

“With these new buildings come a new vigor and enthusiasm for work. Your dedication to service will add brilliance to these buildings,” Gesmundo said.
