Revilla lauds Serbisyo Fair caravan

- BERNADETTE E. TAMAYO

SEN. Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr. highlighted the importance of the government’s Bagong Pilipinas Serbisyo Fair (BPSF) caravan in bringing the government closer to the people.

Revilla said the caravan “aims to reach all regions of the country and that more Filipinos will benefit from it.”

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. launched the BPSF on September 23.

BPSF caravans would be held in 82 provinces.

Revilla lauded the President and House Speaker Martin Romualdez for bringing government closer to the people as they “worked hand in hand” for the caravan.

“We’re fortunate that we have a President and a House Speaker who have deep concern for the people,” he said. “Actually, I have never seen this before. It is only now that I witnessed such program that is provided directly to the people. The national government goes its way to reach out to the public.”

Revilla joined Romualdez on March 22 during a BPSF event in Butuan City, Agusan del Norte, where over 30,000 indigents, farmers, youth scholars and small business owners received financial aid.

Aside from the cash aid, more than 200,000 kilos of rice were distributed to the beneficiaries.

Revilla said other BPSF caravans were held in different parts of the country.

“Just imagine how many [people have] benefited from it,” he said.

He pointed out the positive effect of the caravan on boosting the economies of the localities they visit.

“In this post-Covid period, it is important for government to provide packages that will stimulate local economies,” Revilla said.
