Nissan Ariya e-4ORCE makes PH debut at 19th MIAS

- BY MIKA FERNANDEZ DAVID

THE Nissan Ariya e-4ORCE served as the centerpiece of the Nissan pavilion at the recently concluded 2024 Manila International Auto Show (MIAS).

Following the global company’s electrification roadmap, “Bridging the Future” was the theme for this year’s display. The Ariya is Nissan’s first zero-emissions SUV and showcases the best of what the brand currently has to offer in terms of innovative technology through Nissan Intelligent Mobility. It represents the next generation of Nissan electrified vehicles — 14 fully electric vehicles to be launched in the next six years.

Produced in Japan’s Tochigi prefecture, the Ariya builds upon the technology that was pioneered in the LEAF, the world’s first mass-market electric vehicle (EV). Designed on a dedicated EV platform, the designers were able to take a fresh approach to design, free from the constraints of an internal combustion engine platform. Embodying Nissan’s “Timeless Japanese Futurism” design philosophy, the Ariya reflects its Japanese DNA in a sleek and modern way.

The Ariya e-4ORCE is equipped with Nissan’s all-wheel-drive (AWD) powertrain, featuring two electric motors powering all four wheels. It produces a maximum output of 394 PS and 600 Newton-meters of torque, with an 87-kilowatt-hour battery providing a range of over 500 kilometers. The fast-charging battery can be recharged from 30 percent to 80 percent in just 30 minutes.

Despite being a crossover, the Ariya maximizes its EV architecture and boasts one of the most spacious interiors in its class. Its roomy, lounge-like atmosphere is enhanced by Zero Gravity seats and a flat open floor. The minimalist dashboard features Nissan’s Integrated Display Interface with two 12.3inch screens that display driving information and control vehicle functions. Climate controls are integrated into the center dash, providing a seamless and elegant design. Front passengers benefit from enhanced legroom under the dash.

The Ariya is packed with Nissan’s latest technologies, including the full suite of Nissan Intelligent Mobility driver assist features, headlined by Nissan Safety Shield and ProPILOT 2.0. These features ensure a technologically advanced drive with high levels of confidence and safety on the road.

Also on display at the Nissan pavilion were Nissan’s full vehicle lineup, namely, the Patrol, Terra, Navara, Almera, LEAF, and Kicks e-Power, as well as the brand’s performance models — the all-new Z and GT-R. The Nissan Formula E driving simulator was also a hit with the visitors, with a constant queue of eager testers of all ages.

Located just beside the World Trade Center building was Nissan’s campingthemed outdoor display area that centered around the Nissan Urvan GX camper concept set up by Joel Pedro of Overland Kings. The display demonstrated the versatility and reliability of Nissan’s vehicles, which can also be customized depending on customer preferences, whether for personal or business use. The outdoor setup was powered by the fully electric LEAF’s V2X, demonstrating Nissan’s commitment to innovation and technology.
