PH among countries with lowest pay for freelancers
THE Philippines is among the 10 countries where freelancers get the lowest pay, a study showed.
In a study conducted by invoicing software company Bookipi, which also used the freelancing platform Upwork, the country placed seventh out of 40 countries surveyed, with an average price of $106.70 per freelancing job.
“They looked at several popular services, including logo design, video editing and data entry. For each service in each country, the starting and end price were collected, and an average price overall was calculated,” Bookipi said. priCceolfoomr average price per freelancing job, followed by Brazil ($79.81), Argentina ($80.84), Jamaica ($88.63) and Venezuela ($93.41).
Germany ranked sixth, one ahead of the Philippines, with an average price of $102.35 per freelance role.
With a $594.56 average price per freelance job, Australia has the highest pay for freelancers, followed by India ($501), Morocco ($401.64), Saudi Arabia ($401.64) and Turkey ($393.88).
Bookipi Chief Executive Officer Tim Lee said their team was interested “in how these different experiences are reflected through the costs of freelance workers worldwide.”
“Typically, countries with robust economies and high living standards tend to host the most expensive freelancers, which the data reflects by finding Australia as the most expensive freelance country,” Lee said.
Among the categories used for the survey were logo design, video es ed a it ricn hg, ed na gt ianee not pryt,imviirztu at ai loans, sis sot ac ni a tl, media management, resume writing, creative writing, web programming and mobile apps.
“The starting price and ending price for each project were gathered, and a median price for each project was calculated based on these two figures. The country location of the freelancer who hosted the project was also gathered,” Bookipi said.
