HWPL Philippines to host 2nd National Peace Convention
INTERNATIONAL peace organization Heavenly Culture, World Peace, Restoration of Light (HWPL), is set to convene the 2nd National Peace Convention at the Plenary Hall, Philippine International Convention Center, on April 20.
Themed “A Symposium of Peace Legislation, Peace Education, and Religious and Cultural Harmony,” the event aims to gather around 4,500 policymakers, educators, media and religious leaders to showcase progress made across three core initiatives since the 1st National Peace Convention.
Featured as the keynote speaker is Chief Minister Ahod Ebrahim, Al Haj, of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM), addressing “Output of education and rule of law in building peace and achieving the cessation of war.”
BARMM’s recent declaration of a “Peace Day” and support for HWPL’s Declaration of Peace and Cessation of War (DPCW) highlight significant strides towards peace legislation.
HWPL’s peace education initiative is being implemented nationwide as Schools Division Offices (SDO) from Luzon, the Visayas and Mindanao spearhead contextualization efforts. SDO Laguna, Southern Leyte Cotabato City, will receive recognition for their efforts.
A message from Vice President and Department of Education Secretary Sara Duterte will be featured, alongside a keynote address on peace education by Ronald Adamat, commissioner of the Commission on Higher Education.
The third core initiative, interreligious harmony, will be underscored through HWPL’s Religious Peace Academy, a pioneering academic program fostering unity among diverse religious communities.
The event will culminate with a historic Joint Agreement of Solidarity signed by religious leaders, affirming a shared commitment to peace and interfaith dialogue.
