NADINE LUSTRE

Millennial Multi-hyphenate

-

She is half of an extremely popular love team and the heroine of many young women today because of her talent and candid offscreen persona. Nadine Lustre started her showbiz career when she was 9 years old, hosting various shows and guesting in different TV programs. In 2009, she joined the all-female girl group Pop Girls and eventually launched her own solo singing career in 2014. That same year she starred in the movie Diary ng Panget, opposite James Reid and got her break. Its success led her to another movie with Reid that same year, Talk Back and You’re Dead, and in 2015, the teleserye On the Wings of Love.

It was the TV series that solidified Lustre as one of today’s most sought-after young stars. Her playful roles exhibiting strength of resolve and confidence, a sacrificial heart, and an unabashed take on sex and sensuality has gained Lustre fans for keeping things real and portraying the modern Filipina. While she isn’t one to document every move on social media, she does use it to make statements, whether it’s bidding bashers goodbye or expressing quiet affection for her reel and real life boyfriend Reid, and to share droolworthy travel photos. Her Instagram feed showcases her inherent creativity, boasting photos and videos captioned with lyrics to songs that could rival any international social media influencer. Of course in her case, it is only complimentary to her booming show business career.

Early this year Lustre created her own fragrance, Luster, a testament to the artist within. She also recently bested other local contemporaries, earning the Most Favorite Filipino Celebrity Award in a popular young adult cable channel. Lastly, she and Reid also wrapped up their second teleserye together, Till I Met You. Her poise, authenticity, and natural knack for show business says Lustre’s not leaving the top anytime soon.—RCB
