Often five to ten steps ahead of the group he shoots with, he is like a ninja speeding off in search of the next photogenic spot to tell the visual story he has collaborated with the creatives around him. Make no mistake, it isn’t a mere walk in the park either, because if he isn’t running towards the farthest point of the distance, he teeters on the edge of a flimsy perch all in the name of the memorable shot that is sure to sear into your senses.

A trusted guardian of the still image, he will go to great lengths to snap that perfect photograph. Concurrently, he doesn’t settle for just enough. Perhaps a testament to the years he toiled in the industry, there is an undeterred reverence to his work. And this is why he is unmatched at what he does. Whether it’s geared towards the glossy and commercial, to the more evocative and dramatic, Mark Nicdao will deliver far more than one will imagine.

The easy and laidback work ethic of Mark Nicdao not only endears him to the industry even after all these years, but it spills over to his being grateful for every artistic pursuit he has been accorded in his career. There are no special treatments for the man many people look up to. With a cup of coffee in one hand and a cigarette on the other, there is an air of assured contentment about him. But what draws the person in further is that he always has a fixed gaze, even as he looks into seeming nothingness. One never knows what goes on in the complex mind of the visual genius, but what we can be sure of is he’s either dreaming up of that next great photograph he will render iconic or simply envisioning another horizon he will run off to with his trusty camera.
