LOVI POE

It’s definitely an adjustment. I am so used to being busy all the time. The pandemic has given me the chance to slow down and reflect. It is devastating to see what is happening to our country and the rest of the world. The fear is real. You can see both ignorance and arrogance in our society. But at the end of the day, we do what we can to stay calm, positive and healthy. Not just with our bodies, but also our minds. Sure, we keep things optimistic, cheerful and lighthearted with what we see online, but more importantly, we need to keep ourselves educated and mindful of others so that as a society, we really learn from all of this so we do not repeat the same mistakes.

It’s a time to go back to basics. Imagine, we are being taught again very basic things such as the importance of proper hand washing—something we learned as children! Everything that is happening is making you think and rethink your decisions in life. If you go deeper, it’s fundamentally learning to take care of yourself so you can do the same for others. This life is a gift and we must never take anything for granted, whether it’s as simple as washing your hands or using your talents in service of others.—LP
