PASWI PRESIDENT'S REGIONA/CHAPTER VISITS
Cavite chapter visit - following a tradition of regional/chapter since 2012, the current PASWI leadership undertook in 2018 at least 2 regional and 1 local chapter visits. First of these, was on June 8, 2018 to the Province of Cavite was for reorganizing of Cavite PASWI chapter, held at the Provincial Cooperative, Livelihood and Entrepreneurial Development Office at Trece Matres, Cavite. The PASWI National Team was composed of President Eva P. Ponce de Leon and 2 executive assistants Juliet V. Yara and Nonilyn A. De Roda. The ensuing general assembly went to elect chap- ter officers headed by Epifania Cynthia B. Zamora as the new chapter president. Tawi-Tawi regional/ chapter visit – on August 1-3, 2018, PASWI national president Eva P. Ponce de Leon accompanied by Evangeline Guinto national treasurer, were in Bongao, Tawi-Tawi for the trainers’ training on psychosocial intervention for social workers. 54 Muslim social workers and other assisting professionals attended, headed by Tawi-Tawi chapter president Barbangsa Jalaide who said that this was the first time that PASWI national president and other national officers visited Tawi-Tawi.
Cagayan Valley regional/ chapter visit – on August – on August 28-30, 2018, PASWI national officers headed by president Eva P. Ponce de Leon with Evangeline Guinto national treasurer, Puerto Princesa City Social Services department head Lydia del Rosario and Juliet V. Yara were in their Cagayan Valley visitation. With the full support of DSWD Cagayan Valley regional director Lucia S. Alan, Ms. Edith Pagulayan, president, PASWI Cagayan Valley chapter, and Ms. Vilma Gaffud, president, Isabela chapter and executive assistant Marciano Dameg, Mrs. Ponce de Leon and her team were able to meet with PASWI officers from Isabela, Cagayan, Nueva Viscaya, and Quirino chapters. They were also able to have a meet & greet session with the municipal social welfare officers from Tuguegarao, Appari, Sta. Ana, Gonzaga, Sta. Teresita, and Peña Blanca all in Cagayan.
