Calamian power corp do­nates 8 MRFs to Busuanga

The Calamian Is­lands Power Corp. (CIPC), Busuanga Is­land’s sole power provider, re­cently do­nated eight Ma­te­ri­als Re­cov­ery Fa­cil­i­ties (MRF) to Coron in sup­port of its sus­tain­able en­vi­ron­men­tal pro­tec­tion ini­tia­tives. The CIC said that with over 52,000 res­i­dents liv­ing in 23 barangays, Coron is in need of the MRFs in com­pli­ance with Repub­lic Act 9003 or the”Eco­log­i­cal Solid Waste Man­age­ment Act of 2000,” which pre­scribes proper solid waste man­age­ment. The CIPC said the pro­vi­sion of the MRFs to Coron un­der the ad­min­is­tra­tion of Mayor Ajerico Bar­ra­coso was in co­or­di­na­tion with Engr. Jess Arevalo of the Coron Waste Man­age­ment Depart­ment (CWMD), the

Coron Mayor Bar­ra­coso with CIPC Plant Man­ager Leo Co­ton and CIPC EHS Of­fi­cer Audie Ponce, to­gether with their sup­port staffs, in­spect the CIPC built MRFs.

CIPC Plant Man­ager, Leo Co­ton re­ceives a Plaque of Ap­pre­ci­a­tion from Honor­able Mayor Bar­ra­coso and rep­re­sen­ta­tives from Barangays 1 to 5 as well as the Coron Tourist Boat As­so­ci­a­tion.
