Calamian power corp donates 8 MRFs to Busuanga
The Calamian Islands Power Corp. (CIPC), Busuanga Island’s sole power provider, recently donated eight Materials Recovery Facilities (MRF) to Coron in support of its sustainable environmental protection initiatives. The CIC said that with over 52,000 residents living in 23 barangays, Coron is in need of the MRFs in compliance with Republic Act 9003 or the”Ecological Solid Waste Management Act of 2000,” which prescribes proper solid waste management. The CIPC said the provision of the MRFs to Coron under the administration of Mayor Ajerico Barracoso was in coordination with Engr. Jess Arevalo of the Coron Waste Management Department (CWMD), the
