Bersola lifts Maroons to stun Lady Bulldogs in UAAP volley
MANILA – The University
n of t he Philippines Lady Maroons kept its Final Four hopes alive with a 25- 14, 25- 27, 25- 21, 25- 12 win over the National University Lady Bulldogs in the UAAP Season 79 women’s volleyball tournament on Sunday night at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
Kathy Bersola played her best game of the season tallying a career- high eight blocks to finish with 14 points for the Lady Maroons, which registered its second consecutive win to improve to a 7-5 win-loss slate.
Bersola, who is playing on her final year, held her own against 6-foot-5 Jaja Santiago of the Lady Bulldogs to boost the Lady Maroons’ Final Four bid as it moved up to fourth place in the standings.

Meanwhile, the Ateneo Lady Eagles leaned on the career- game of Negrense Kassandra Gequillana to score a 25-13, 25-13, 25-11 straight-set victory over the Adamson University Lady Falcons.
