IPGAI started in 2008 as a premiere performing arts group which aimed to promote Ilonggo talents and contribute to the already rich Filipino culture and heritage. It upholds the highest principles of creative expertise, artistic discipline and professional deportment. It brings an annual season of stage plays comprising Filipino pieces, both classic and contemporary, as well as adaptations from local and international musical productions. It also conducts regular creative workshops in dance, theatre, music, visual arts and writing to kids, theatre enthusiasts, corporate clienteles and art practitioners yearly.

I PGAI has presented numerous successful stage productions within the past eight years generating the most number of audiences in Iloilo like “Fiddler on the Roof,” “Minda Mora,” “Sound of Music,” “Walang Sugat,” “Peter Pan,” 32-2-short-one-act-plays, “60 Minutes,” “Ang Sistema Ni Propesor Tuko,” “Oedipus Rex,” “The Lion King,” “A Midsummer Night’s Dream,” “Miss Saigon,” “Faith in One Dream,” “Sayaw Paraiso,” “The Little Mermaid,” “Cinderella” and “Mulan.” It has also staged different productions at the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP) in Manila like “Ang Kuripot” of CCP’s 2009 Fellowship program; “Hiyaw, Himig at Sayaw Para Sa Pilipino” for CCP’s 2009 Sagip Sining: Arts to the Rescue; Nicks Joaquin’s “Three Generations”; Leoncio Deriada’s “The Dog Eaters” and “Riddle of the Sphinx”; Marcelino Agana’s “New Yorker in Tondo”; Jesus Peralta’s “Play the Judas”; Al Santos’ “Ang Sistema Ni Propesor Tuko”; and Alberto Florentino’s “The Dancers” for CCP’s Pasinaya Arts Festival. The audience once again commended IPG’s performance.

IPGAI opened its newest program – The Pre- School Program. The i nstitute’s preparatory school values excellence and fosters creativity in learning and experience as a firm foundation for the holistic development – the mind, the heart and the soul of the child as an artist and a Filipino for the greater glory of God. It pursues a premium on educating children progressively in the academics like reading, writing and arithmetic reinforced by our special program for the arts like dance, theatre, music, visual arts, speech and writing where they can develop their talent and character and learn social and life skills to adapt and excel in a changing world.

I PGAI uses creative curriculum which is based on hands- on learning and child- centered approach as we believe in John Dewey’s “learning by doing” philosophy in education. The curriculum is designed to foster development of the whole child through teacher-led

small and large group activities focused on 11 interest areas like blocks, toys and games, library, sand and water, computers, music and movement, art, dramatic play, discovery, cooking and outdoors. The program is open to kids 2-5 years old. This summer, the art institute will hold Summer Creative Workshops and Play and Learn for all artists and art enthusiasts. The creative workshop in dance with theatre and speech (3 in 1 program), music and visual arts are open for individuals who are 6 to 21 years old. The workshops intend to use voice, creative movements and refinement of gestures with the meaningful use of body and imagination. Classes will be supplemented with activities such as games, improvisation, communication drills and pedestrian movements. The Play and Learn is designed for children with ages 5 years and below. This aims to provide a safe and clean environment for the children where they can play and explore. It includes music, art, theatre, dance classes with an incorporation of school skills.

Iloilo Prima Galaw is the national winner of the Ten Accomplished Organizations ( TAYO) of the Philippines, the Teletech’s Special Awardee for Excellence in Youth Development and Education and a recipient of Jerry Trenas’ Citation for Achievement in the Culture and the Arts.
