Standard police bldgs for 7 towns

-

IL OIL O–Standard police office buildings will soon rise in Barotac Viejo, Estancia, Lambunao, Leon, San Dionisio, San Miguel, and Tigbauan towns.

Bidding is ongoing for the projects, according to Chief Inspector Aaron Palomo, Iloi lo Police Provincial Office ( IPPO) spokesperson.

The buildings were part of the Philippine National Police (PNP) transformation program.

Palomo said the budget depends on building classification.

A city police office building costs P17.5 million; type A, P 7.4 million; type B/ C, P 4.6 million; and a Community Police Action Center, or Compac, P1.2 million, stated t he PNP National Headquarters Bids and Awards Committee Resolution No. 077.

Big towns like Lambunao, Estancia and Barotac Viejo were likely to have big police office buildings as well, Palomo said.

The construction — to be fully funded by the PNP national headquarters — may be completed within two to five months, he said.

New and standard facilities will provide police officers a “good working atmosphere that could improve[ their] performance and [ help them] better serve the public,” said Palomo.

And this time they will fully own — not rent — the facility, “[ creating a] spirit of independence,” the IPPO spokesperson said.

The seven additional facilities will bring to 28 the number of local governments with standard police office buildings. Iloilo has 42 towns and one component city.

“We are working hard so that 100 percent of our [ local governments] in the province will have new and standard police stations,” said Palomo. (
