SP to con­duct hear­ing on pro­posed leg­isla­tive district

BACOLOD City - The C o mmit­tee o n L a ws, Or­di­nances a nd Good G o v e r n ment o f t h e Sang­gu­ni­ang Pan­lung­sod of this city will con­duct a committee hear­ing on the pro­posed cre­ation of a new leg­isla­tive district in this city.

Coun­cilor Cae­sar Distrito, committee chair­per­son, said Cong. Greg Gasa­taya re­quested the opin­ion of Mayor Eve­lio “Bing” Leonar­dia and the mem­bers of the Sang­gu­nian on the pro­posed re­dis­trict­ing of Bacolod City.

Also in­vited in the hear­ing are the City Ad­min­is­tra­tor’s Of­fice, City Plan­ning and De­vel­op­ment Of­fice, City Le­gal Of­fice, City En­gi­neer’s Of­fice, City As­ses­sor’s Of­fice, Depart­ment of Pub­lic Works and High­ways - Bacolod

Viet­nam and Brunei re­cently im­ported around 5,000 and 400 heads, re­spec­tively.

Mean­while, Mas­culino re­vealed that OPA has al­ready sub­mit­ted a re­quest to the pro­vin­cial gov­ern­ment to pur­chase new ve­hi­cles.

The bud­get i s around City En­gi­neer­ing District, Depart­ment of I nte­rior and Lo­cal Gov­ern­ment, Com­mis­sion on Elec­tions, Philip­pine Sta­tis­tics Author­ity and the 61 barangays of this city.

“The committee, be­fore mak­ing a re­port, will con­duct first se­ries of hear­ings on the pro­posed re­dis­trict­ing,” Distrito said.

“We would also like to hear t he sen­ti­ments or opin­ions of the stake­hold­ers on this pro­posal be­fore we will dis­cuss and for­mu­late our unan­i­mous opin­ion. It would be good if all the opin­ions and the voice of all sec­tors will be in­cor­po­rated in the re­port to be sub­mit­ted to the SP and will be for­warded to the Se­nate and the House of Rep­re­sen­ta­tives,” he added./

“As for the bid­ding we have not started yet, be­cause we are still seek­ing the ap­proval of the DILG [Depart­ment of In­te­rior and Lo­cal Gov­ern­ment],” Mas­culino said./
