- BY ADRIAN STEWART CO

MANILA – Vice President Leni Robredo said on Monday her office is setting up temporary learning spaces that will cater to the children displaced by the monthlong clashes in Marawi City.

The Office of Vice President ( OVP) is already surveying possible areas that can serve as temporary classrooms.

“We want to setup temporary learning centers in Iligan and nearby areas in Mindanao so that the children can continue their schooling while in evacuation centers,” Robredo said in her weekly radio program.

Some private partners of the OVP already donated chairs and school supplies, she said.

Classes remained suspended in Marawi City and eight districts in Lanao del Sur.

“While all of us wait for this crisis in Marawi to end, we want them ( evacuees), especially the children, to continue with their lives,” Robredo said.

Several Marawi residents already evacuated t heir residences amid the continuing battle between government troops and the Maute terrorist group.
