Ceres FC to fight Stallion in Bacolod

n rt hope to stretch their winning run in the 2017 Philippine­s Football League when they play host to Stallion- Laguna today at the Panaad Park and Stadium in Bacolod City. Game time is 4 p.m.

The Negros Occidental-based team is aiming for a second- straight victory while Stallion are still on the hunt for its first win in the tournament.

Ceres was fresh from a 3-1 victory over Kaya- Makati on Saturday, also at the Panaad Stadium, behind the hat-trick of Spanish midfielder Bienvenido Marañon.

“The teams that come will defend like how Kaya defended (last Saturday),” said Ceres head coach Risto Vidakovic. “We have to prepare for Stallion. We know [the match] is going to be tough again.”

Stallion are expected to get pumped up heading into the match after forcing league leader Meralco Manila Sparks to a 1-1 draw last Saturday at the Rizal Memorial Football Stadium.

Ceres comprise Simone Rota, Jose Elmer Porteria, Jason De Jong, Ronald Muller, Iain Ramsay, Stephan Schrock, Filipino-Iranian Omid Nazari, Spanish Fernando Rodriguez, and Japanese Kota Kawase.

Stallion, on the other hand, will have two homecoming players in Negrenses Nicholas Ferrer and Benito Rosalia. Also in the team are Ilonggos Jesus Melliza, Bervic Italia and Ruben Doctora.

Ceres are currently in fifth place with 7 points on two wins, one draw and a loss, while Stallion are at the cellar with 3 points on three draws and three losses./
