MANILA – After making changes on its local crew, the Rain or Shine Elasto Painters has also decided to tap a new reinforcement to improve its campaign in the 2017 Oppo PBA Governors’ Cup.

The Painters decided to let go of original prospect JD Weatherspoon and tap fellow American J’Nathan Bullock in hopes of resuscitating its campaign in the season-ending conference.

The 30- year- old Bullock is no stranger to playing as reinforcement abroad. He previously strut his wares in Australia, Belgium, Iceland and Finland after playing college at Cleveland State University.

n rt “He isn’t as athletic as JD but he is more versatile and more experienced,” said Painters head coach Carlos Garcia. “What’s nice about him is he gets everyone involved and he is more vocal to his teammates, especially on defense.”

“So f ar, he has been impressive in practice. He’s strong because I guess, he played football,” he added. “He is more comfortable playing at the three but we will also use him at the four spot.”

The 6- foot- 5 Bullock is expected to make his debut with the Painters (1-2) when they face the struggling KIA Picanto (0-5) tomorrow night at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.

Prior to tapping Bullock, Painters have already made some changes in its lineup by trading away Negrense Jeff Chan to Phoenix Fuel Masters for Mark Borboran and acquiring Eduardo Daquioag f rom Meralco Bolts for Chris Michael Tolomia.

“We had to make the changes because ( Jay Washington) is down with an injury then Raymond (Almazan) and Gabe ( Norwood) will be missing more games with Gilas,” said Garcia. “That’s why we also got Daquioag so we have young wings.”/
