Cigarette alternatives
CIGARETTE and tobacco have been lifetime accessories of many of us. They have been a “helping” option since time immemorial.
Why people smoke boils down to few significant and neglected reasons such as peer pressure, social rewards, risk-taking behavior, parental influence, stress relief, genetic predisposition, misinformation, advertising, and media influences.
Peer pressure is very challenging and the group that is highly susceptible to it the teenagers. If they do not start young outside, they start at home because of parental influence. Either way, most of them smoke cigar because they want to release stress.
People working in call centers and whose working hours are highly logged compared to leniency in other jobs are stressed with it on top of answering customers with different issues and concerns.
People, especially younger ones, smoke cigarettes because of that limit-pushing thrill they get in doing things that the government tries to regulate, or deprive them of doing.
Some also have genetic predisposition to addiction, making smoking a habit.
Advertising becomes effective when more and more are hooked into smoking. Media influences remain strong that despite the moderation tip, people are unstoppable when it comes to smoking, even when some associated information seems incorrect and untrue.
In recent years though there had been a slight nudge on the figures of people smoking. It was not constant but the numbers was quite significant in so far as negative advertising, health risks, smoking bans and designated public smoking areas were imposed. Can people really eventually get rid of smoking as it is evidently not helping anyone’s health any better? Well, only time can tell.
However, there are known alternatives to smoking that worked for many former heavy smokers to stop smoking. There are two common reasons among them that have made them decide to completely end their smoking careers. One is when health (intestinal-related) reason get in the way and was informed that smoking will trigger pains, thus, withdrawal is a must. Two is when smoker was told by children that they smell really bad when smoking. The parent was deeply embarrassed right to the core enough for him to decide on quitting.
Smoking cigarettes is terribly addictive, so while people want to eliminate the dangerous side of smoking tobacco, the desire for nicotine is hard to kick. This has led to a wide range of “alternatives” to smoking,
