Schools in Guimaras province embrace LAC mechanism
“THE illiterate of the 21st century will not be those who cannot read and write but those who cannot learn, unlearn and relearn,” says Alvin Toffler.
This motivational thought for teachers inflamed the desire of the Division of Guimaras delegations taking part of the Training Workshop on LAC Mechanism composed of Elementary and Secondary School Principals and Multi-grade teachers at Madison Hotel, Delgado Street, Iloilo City on Nov. 2224, 2017.
DepEd Order No. 35 s. 2016 stipulated the Learning Action Cell ( LAC) as a K- 12 Basic Education Program School- based Continuing Professional Development Strategy for
the Improvement of Teaching Learning.
To this effect, the endeavor aimed to deliver understanding on the conduct of LAC and to identify the roles and responsibilities of the different stakeholders.
Eventually, the initial session on Roles and Responsibilities of various DepEd offices in the Learning Action Cell
(LAC) was facilitated by Mrs. Melinde E. Nava, PSDS, Nueva Valencia South.
In her discussion, she emphasized the roles and responsibilities of the school to undergo planning, i mplementing, documenting and evaluating the LACs, Furthermore, she made mention about the integrated of LACs in the school’s SIP/AIP; to mobilize resources for the conduct of LACs; to provide feedback to the district and division, to share with and adapt LAC practices from other schools, thereby developing a culture of collaboration and continuous improvements as well as to communicate LAC successes to stakeholders.
