Five drug suspects fall, another flees

BACOLOD City – Five drug suspects were arrested while another escaped in a sting operation that the Philippine Drug Enforcemen­t Agency ( PDEA) and t he Kabankalan City police conducted in Purok Paraiso, Barangay Hi l a monan, Kabankalan City.

The Dec. 13 operation netted r e s i dents Noel Cuenca, John Mark Salazar, Harvey Ledesma, Melvin Cabatu, and Ruben Villaflor, a PDEA spot report showed.

J ose Hupalan eluded arrest, it further stated.

The suspects were caught while they were having a “pot session,” a PDEA agent said.

Recovered f r om t he suspects were 13 sachets of shabu valued at P150,000.

Cuenca, Salazar, Ledesma, Cabatu, and Villaflor were detained at the Kabankalan City police station lockup facility while Hupalan was still at large as of this writing.

They were all f acing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehens­ive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002./

BACOLOD City – A man landed in a hospital after being stabbed in Barangay Punta Taytay, a police report showed.

He was the 50- year- old resident Michel Toledo, police said.

Toledo was allegedly stabbed by J ubert Villa using an i cepick on Dec. 13.

Toledo sustained stab wounds on the different parts of the body and was r ushed t o t he Corazon L o c s i n Monte l i b a n o M e m o r i a l R e g i o n a l Hospital in the city.
