member Dominick Diño said. He was referring to students from Jaro and La Paz in Iloilo City, Dueñas in Iloilo, Negros Occidental, and Antique who have been the first participants of the stress- coping program.
According to Diño, the students must “finally let go of their worries at school,” especially now that it’s the Christmas season. He added that this intervention program would let students fully enjoy their time with their families.
“It will help them (students) release the stress before they get to be with their families on Christmas,” Diño said.
Aside from the Project KaleidosCOPE, the Order of Asclepius also brings smiles to the children of ANCOP (ANswering the Cry Of the Poor) and the Western Visayas Sanitarium through their yearly Christmas party and gift-giving program called “Chikititoys.”
The toys and other gifts come from the donations of medical students of WVSU, one of their ways of giving back.
“In the season of giving, we can always do our part in helping people. Even if it’s just one person that you can help, it will have a rippling effect,” Diño stressed.
The unfaltering drive of the Order of the Asclepius is a testament that the spirit of loving and sharing is still with us and it can flourish.
Maybe then, when that Christmas spirit is at its brightest, warming the hearts of those that need it most, will we hear the children carol again, loud and clear./
