NOWADAYS, with the expansion of technology all over the world most of today’s educational system is influenced by technology. Being said, computers are not only being used to perform various tasks in the classroom, but they even help simplify the way students learn.
I nformation and Communication Technology (ICT) in education is the mode of education that uses information and communications technology to support, enhance, and optimize the delivery of information. Likewise, computer technology has definitely brought a lot of changes may it be positive or negative in the classroom. In fact, studies made showed that many schools have started to incorporate the technological use of computers and mobile devices in the classroom. And the reason for doing so is to further improve the academic performance of students. With the evolution of the technology, the practices and drills have resulted to great products.
ICT AS A SUPPORT IN EDUCATION
ICT has proven itself very supportive in all the aspects of things. We are now entering the digital world or we are already in rather that this support from technology in various tasks is simply natural. What technology does for us especially in terms of education is priceless and admirable.
Processing applications like Microsoft Word, Power point, Excel and the like help support the teachers and students in simplifying things and make it more hands-on. Various devices or technology in ICT includes the access of course materials through remote devices, online digital repositories for lectures, course materials, and digital library, online/ cloud based academic management systems, employing the flipped classroom concept, making use of handheld computers, tablet computers, audio players, projector devices etc.
ICT ENHANCES EDUCATIONAL SYSTEM
This is no doubt one of the best reasons ICT brought to mankind. Enhancing things and making it simple is probably how we human should take note of this. Today, most schools use electronic books (e-books),
the kind of textbooks that can be seen in their phones and tablets.
As they say, the classroom is a good starting point for people to learn how to deal with the world, in this case, in these machines. These machines really help everyone to navigate things easily. Even the mode of teaching like reporting and lectures can be now more visual with the help of power points and any video presentations out there.
ICT OPTIMIZES THE DELIVERY OF INFORMATION
As someone who have seen and been teaching computer education for so long now I believe this one perfectly suit the way ICT works for us. Needless to say, I CT is making its best effort to provide us worldwide access in information and even in communication.
