WE are living in a world today where digital literacy is emerging throughout our whole society. With the advancement of technology, globalization and liberalization, it is safe to assume now that new markets have grown and businesses have crossed borders and are poised to offer new challenges and opportunities for leaders and organizations.
For this article, I would like to tackle about the 21st century business and management and how in the recent years, business management has merged in a big way and is evolving in new dimensions.
Today, t he Philippine curriculum has adopted a worldwide program that has been used by several countries across the globe. The Senior High School program has different strands and one of those i s the Accountancy, Business and Management (ABM) strand wherein it focuses on the basic concepts of financial management, business management, corporate operations, and all things that are accounted for. ABM can also lead you to careers on management and accounting which could be sales manager, human resources, marketing director, project officer, bookkeeper, accounting clerk, internal auditor, and a lot more.
Since we are now living in a world full of advancement, it is really important to know the value of management especially financial management in our lives. And that is one of the many so-purpose of ABM.
21st century business and management reiterated that management must be taught since it tackles about planning, budgeting, staffing, quality control, processes, systems, etc.
Hence, a 21st century manager should possess three traits and utilize them to lead organizations: the ability to stimulate change, excellent
planning capabilities, and ethics. And most importantly, what a manager can change falls distinctive ly into the three categories stated in the definition of change: people, structure, and technology.
In this manner, the management alone is not enough. Leadership must be present all the time. Leadership is a different beast and very few companies are designed for powerful leadership development.
Leadership is proving to be one of the most crucial determinants of whether organizations will survive and flourish in the next century’s business frontier. This is so true especially with the evolving nature of business conducted by global organizations will also call for a fundamentally different kind of leader.
The 21 st century accountancy, business and management will surely be a big help in helping our world a better place to live in.
