The importance of education

- By Idy R. Pedrita, Principal III, Ibajay Central School

IN present times, the world is nothing less than a battlefield, an arena wherein knowledge resembles a sharpened weapon in hand while ignorance is a gun pointed at one’s head. Upon the rise of multiple ideals and philosophical rhetoric deriving from cultural differences and tolerance of various existing beliefs, people struggle every single day in hopes of coping up with the constantly changing environment.

Everyone has the liberty to make decisions, to resort to what is rationally correct, to speak for what is good in a universal perspective, but only a few have the luxury to actually discern what is right from what is wrong, and are well versed in apprehending relevant issues. Acquiring the quality learning in life is a necessity in a way that it serves as a vital token that empowers both the personality and mentality of an individual. Aside from the fact that education makes up a large contribution in human development, it is also through proper enlightenment that enables a person to distinguish the discrepancies and dereliction that are transpiring on certain situations.

Education is an intangible treasure that cannot be seen by the naked eye but can be witnessed through morals, literature, music, sagacity, and many more. It soars high in a limitless degree, strong enough to dictate supremacy worldwide. The learning which people obtain is a lifetime paragon of intelligence that cannot be stolen by any thief no matter what, it is what feeds the curiosity and fills the space of unfamiliarity - a fortune more worthy than any material thing in the universe. In the process of continuously growing , education does not only need to be purely academic and science, it can be anything substantial that would awaken a person’s interest and passion at the same time. In all spheres of evolution, wisdom maintains the intricate balance of progress. Individuals who are bestowed with logical intellect most likely to pave the way for phenomenal changes in order to strengthen the society and humanity, eliminating the growth of mayhem together with violence.

Before I became a woman with vision, I was once a girl with so many dreams. In view of the fact that I wasn’t raised with a golden spoon, poverty didn’t hinder me to reach my ambition and live up to what I aspired to be. My journey was not a smooth sailing voyage, there were hardships along the way, countless storms I never thought I would surpass, infinite moments that almost made me give up, but every time I scrape my knee from the downfall, my optimism is what pushes me to stand stronger. In life, I have learned that no wild wave is bigger that faith only if one is highly motivated.

Education is important, it helps build a stronger character identity and build wider viewpoints on definite affairs which allows people to became wiser when it comes to analyzing circumstances. Learning never stops, what people do is an aftermath of putting knowledge into actions. As the world gets more advanced, the thirst in assimilating further is becoming more intense due to the never-ending desires of men. Truth be told, education is an ornament in prosperity and a refuge in diversity. Ultimately, it is never enough to just talk about the value of receiving knowledge, it takes courage and dedication to prove what wonders education can create. ( Paid article)
