Hamtic farmer shot

SAN JOSE, Antique – He was standing inside his house when he was shot, a police report showed.

The 37-year-old farmer Lorenzo Dela Cruz sustained a gunshot wound on the right side of the stomach, the report added.

Dela Cruz was rushed to the Angel Salazar Memorial General Hospital in this capital town for treatment.

The shooting happened around 12: 15 a. m. on Saturday in Barangay Caridad, Hamtic, Antique.

Recovered from the crime scene was an empty shell of a .45-caliber firearm, police said.

Officers from the Hamtic police station were still identifying the suspect and the motive in the shooting./
