Geography, history and Capiz tourism
CAPIZ has a lot of things to present to its tourists and because of that I love this province. Two of the assets that the province of Capiz has include its geography and its history.
How can we use a little bit of geography in promoting the province of Capiz?
Capiz is located at Panay Island which is on the center of the Republic of the Philippines and is one of the places closer to Boracay Island, which I hope will be beautiful and clean for every person to see later on.
We can find out about the more popular places within Panay Island and Guimaras, find out the respective pros and cons of these places and use these to our advantage by promoting the qualities that our tourist spots have that can help in giving our tourist spots a difference when compared with those tourist spots that are similar in nature.
We mentioned about Boracay Island. Capiz goes beyond being a Seafood Capital as the province has its own version of Boracay that can compete with the more famous island because of the tranquility of the islands such as Olotayan Island in Roxas City and Napti Island in Ivisan. We can capitalize on the popularity of Boracay by presenting the two islands and beaches with similar features as alternatives that are not heavily commercialized – it retained most, if not all of its natural beauty.
Now to the history part of things: The province of Capiz has history related to prominent individuals like former President Manuel Roxas. There are also tribes in Capiz whose clothing, jewelry, songs, poetry, stories, food, homes, and other things tell how they live their life. These aspects of history can be used to tell the story of the Capiznon through focusing on stories of perseverance, unselfishness, and care that these people apply to other people and to their environment, especially the indigenous people and how they take care of their land.
Capiz has a lot of things to be proud of. We can use things under social science such as geography and history to our advantage to share our enthusiasm about the things we have in the province with other people and to get them interested enough to come here, enjoy what they experience here, and share their experiences in the province with other people in order for other people to come to the province.
