What teaching science taught me
I AM a teacher but I also continue to be a student because of my experiences in teaching and the information I have to study as a part of my preparation for giving the right information to my students.
I have no shame i n admitting that I am a teacher that continually learns new things and I am sharing what I have learned.
People can do reckless things to themselves or other people that they end up either harm themselves or other people.
They habitually eat things that are not nutritious and avoid the food with the nutritious vitamins and minerals that help them live healthier lives. They get illness or diseases that end up derailing their life, scaring them and the ones who care about them, getting them absent at work, or dead.
Damages to organs is a possible contributor to the death of a person. We discuss how i nternal organs and bodily systems work to make sure that we take care of our body well.
Also, people do crazy stunts for the fun of it or for showing off. They do things the end up injuring them such as engaging in drag racing and push the skateboard forward with their feet too hard and too frequently which results to the speed that they cannot handle well.
We also do things that damage t he creatures, plants, bodies of land and water, etc. We have too much Carbon Dioxide emissions. We throw trash on the road, rivers, ocean, and other wrong places to throw trash rather than recycle them.
We convert bodies of water into land. We end up getting things such as global warming and worse flooding. We learn things about global warming and its causes, which includes the things, in Science.
I n order to know the answers to our questions, we must come up with a systematic way of doing things just like how Scientists come up with the scientific method to observe, measure, experiment, and infer.
You can get the people to listen to you if your discussion gives them a sensation of them experiencing what you are discussing like showing the Amazon rainforest if you are discussing about it or showing pictures of dead sea creatures that died because of consuming plastic objects in their stomach when they were unaware that they cannot digest it.
