21st century learners

THE world has been changing. We all know that this age has given us more freedom for everything. Today, everything seems to be easier to do because of technology.

There are a lot of changes that happen every day. And of those changes affects the way we need to educate our learners. The period when the denial and ignorance was the answer to the learner’s inquisitiv­eness has no solution. This is needed since the learning styles for 21st century has been changed and needs to develop for the betterment of the next generation.

First, let us define the 21st century skills. 21st century skills refer to certain core competenci­es to help the children to be more globally competitiv­e. These core competenci­es are the following collaborat­ion, digital literacy, critical thinking, and problem solving. The said competenci­es are really helpful in making the learners to be more active inside and outside classroom activities.

Furthermor­e, the 21st century learning has the idea of making the students to be like open to interpreta­tion topics and controvers­y. Well, this doesn’t seem to be a new thing since our world today has been dealing with a lot of issues may it be political, religious, and other related topics.

21st century learners are in need of educators that can create a curriculum that will help students connect with the world and understand the issues that our world faces. This is so important since thought and ideas are playing a crucial role in the present 21st century.
