DHSBNHS marks the 2018 National Science Month celebration
PURSUANT to the Presidential Proclamation No. 264 dated September 23, 2002, the National Science Club Month (NSCM) is celebrated every September. It is a month- long celebration wherein Science enthusiasts are enjoined to observe.
In this regard, Doña Hortencia Salas Benedicto National High School, Division of La Carlota City, Negros Occidental celebrated the Science Month carrying the theme “Wavefront: Accentuating Potentials, Activating Technological Advancements”. The celebration was highlighted with a parade and an opening program. Right after the program, an array of activities were conducted like Table Skirting and Booth Contest as well as Quiz Bee Contest. The students really enjoyed participating all the activities. The Medical Mission headed by the representatives of Riverside College was also held.
On the same view, Fun walk was also held with the participation of all interested students of the said school.
Likewise, this year Division Science fair was held on September 28, 2018with the theme “Science for the People Innovation for Collective Prosperity”. It was participated by the Junior and Senior High School students in the Division.
The activity promotes the research program of DepEd where students were given an opportunity to apply the scientific method as they conduct research at their young age and offered the opportunity to explore a broad spectrum of disciplines, including sociology, ecology, plant and animal sciences, chemistry, physics, computer sciences, electrical/ chemical/civil engineering, human health, math, and microbiology. Specific to the science fair experience, it is the intention that students will gain valuable inquiry skills highlighted by the opportunity to intelligibly communicate their findings during the fair itself. In addition , it aims to make Science principles alive and relevant and select the most innovative and best Science Investigatory Projects who will represent the whole division to the Regional Science and Technology Fair on Nov. 9 to 11, 2018 .
