Two athletes light the sports urn with their torches to signal the opening of the 24th edition of the Philippine University Games or UNIGAMES at the University of San Agustin in Iloilo City. Yesterday’s opening was attended by some 2,500 delegates from colleges and universiti­es across the country. The sporting event will run until Oct. 27. Founded in 1996, UNIGAMES was first held at the University of St. La Salle, the founding host, in Bacolod City.
