A SAFE l earning environment is essential for students of all ages especially this time of pandemic.

Without it they are unable to focus on learning the skills needed for a successful education and future. When violence or even the threat of endangering health issues is part of the educational setting, all students are affected in some way.

It is important to foster a learning environment in which students feel safe, relaxed, and willing to take risks, especially for learners who may have had negative experiences in traditional classroom environments as expanding their sense of family and enhancing their self- esteem, which when combined with increased literacy skills, help students take more chances in pursuing their goals.

As of now, the Department of Education encourage every parents to have a home learning space to be develop inside their home. This is to help students acquire a safe and suitable learning environment during this time of pandemic because safety in the classroom at this time is at stake. . As we have no face to face learning, children are home schooled through modular learning.

For me, as teacher, what matters most i s learners.

In order for children and youth to be successful in their studies, it is important that the learning environment provides a sense of belonging, acceptance and safety ( emotional psychology and physical). Children and adolescents need to feel safe and supported.

An effective place of learning must be the first priority in considering a safe learning environment where student can feel safe, physically and emotionally. It must be a supportive community where kids- and teachers- of all background can focus on learning.

To create a climate of safety, halls and room for learning must be free of destructions and noise, fighting of siblings and even bullying towards one another.

That being said, safe environment is not created merely through punishment. If a child is not able to answer their activity from the modules they have, it does not necessarily mean that children are needed to be scold and reprimand.

Children who feel supported and love can do their job on studying and learning effectively and accordingly. Because this will make them feel safe.
