Filipino resiliency amid pandemic

- Enie B. De la Cruz, T-III Ivisan Elementary School

BEING a Filipino is something that I am really proud of. As a citizen of the Republic of the Philippines, I am proud that our country is one of the loveliest country in the whole world.

In fact, to the world, we are easygoing, happy and resilient people. We are hospitable enough since our custom and culture has taught us to be good and always kind to others especially in times of need.

It is very evident during this period of time. Pandemic has brought us disasters and sufferings yet we are still here standing strong, ready to face any challenges and problems. This is how strong, tough, and resilient Filipino people are.

Filipino resiliency amidst this pandemic is something that can never be broken no matter what conflicts, and problems that will come. Being resilient is already in our blood because we always live not only for ourselves but for the people we love and cherish the most.

For instance, there are Filipinos who risked their lives just to provide their families the necessities they need even if pandemic is still ongoing and the threats it bring to our lives are extremely dangerous. We never asked others to do the job for us, we always want to be the people who do it because we know we can.

Moreover, Filipinos are resilient not only because it is part of our culture but because we chose to be like this. The threat of Covid-19 outbreak has opened our eyes that even in storms they will still be sunshine after all.

Let us continue to be resilient to face life struggles. Filipinos are known for this let us show them all. (Contributed article)
