Couple yields P350K ‘shabu’, name in ‘severed hands’ list
BACOLOD City – The name of one of the recently arrested drug suspects in Silay City, Negros Occidental was in the list of individuals found with two severed human hands last month.
Suspects Ma. Chin- chin Grace Cuadra, 27, and Jeffrey Fuentes, 24, were arrested in a drug bust operation at around 11:55 a.m. on Feb. 1.
Over P350,000 worth of suspected shabu was seized from the live-in partners in Sitio Pulo, Barangay Mambulac, Silay City.
The Silay police recovered 14 sachets of suspected shabu weighing 52 grams, with a standard drug price of P353,600. Also recovered were a. 45 caliber pistol with ammunition and P7,500 in buybust money.
Bacolod City Police Station 2 commander Police Capt. Jonito Pastrana said Cuadra is the sister of notorious crime and drug group leader Arnold “Aki” Cuadra.
Aki was abducted and killed in January of last year, along with three other members of his group.
According to Pastrana, Cuadra has been placed under surveillance for several months, although they were unable to organize an operation against her as she was only staying in Bacolod City’s Barangay 2 for short periods. Unlike the other drug suspects that were on the list who mostly surfaced and sought help from authorities, Cuadra did not.
Earlier on Jan. 25, two severed human hands were recovered in Purok Kagaykay, Barangay 2, Bacolod City. The severed hands were found in a container with several ingredients for a stew, or linâgâ.
The container also contained a list of 22 individuals who were allegedly involved in illegal drug activities.
Bacolod City Vice Mayor El Cid Familiaran said the incident, along with the murder of 22-year-old fish vendor Henry
Paul Bombate a few days later on Jan. 27, was committed by vigilantes. Familiaran added that the recent crimes were not ordinary and a big challenge to Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) director, Police Colonel Thomas Joseph Martir, to solve./
