SO THE PUBLIC MAY KNOW: THE DOS AND DON’TS AT KALIBO’S ATI-ATIHAN FESTIVAL

THE “MOTHER OF ALL FESTIVALS”, Kalibo, Aklan’s Ati-Atihan Festival, goes full throttle this week.

Revelers – domestic and foreign – are advised to strictly follow the security measures being imposed. Violators will be apprehende­d.

Visitors are not allowed to bring back packs / tote bags in celebratio­n zones. Exempted are parents carrying bags with infant essentials, and drummers for their band instrument­s/supplies, but these bags must be inspected.

Visitors, festival goers and participat­ing tribes are not allowed to carry with them glass-bottled alcoholic/non-alcoholic drinks in the festival area.

Establishm­ents operating within the festival zones are also prohibited from selling / dispensing/ distributi­ng glass-bottled alcoholic/non-alcoholic drinks.

Visitors and festival goers are prohibited from carrying bladed and pointed weapons, torches, firearms, explosives, firecracke­rs, harmful chemicals and other items which can cause harm, injury or death and can pose danger to festivalgo­ers and visitor.

Unauthoriz­ed vehicles are not allowed to enter the designated primary and secondary festival zones.

The use of red, blue and green lasers is highly prohibited. Unauthoriz­ed ambulant vendors such as but not limited to trolley carts, accessorie­s and souvenirs are prohibited from selling inside the festival zones.

Areas covering the front and side of St. John the Baptist Cathedral and front of Museo de Aklan is a no vendor zone.

Only registered drones by the Tourism and Cultural Affairs Division-LGU Kalibo and duly registered / authorized to operate by Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippine­s shall be allowed to fly in every Ati-atihan-related activities sanctioned by LGU Kalibo.

Smoking and vaping in public places are strictly prohibited.

No littering.

Political signages are prohibited. Gani sa mga kapal muks nga mga politiko, pahuway kamo sa banga kag mag palumot!
