MUSIC SOOTHE TO THE MIND, BODY AND SOUL

Our mind and body quietly needs relaxation and meditation through sounds of music. Listening to a slower tempo of music is very effective and helpful. It releases stress, relieve tension and reduces anxiety. Tuning into a favorite music can change persons’ positive feelings and mood. For those who undergo sadness and downs in life, they prefer to listen and figure out things from the lyrics of the song. They believe that melodies soothe to the soul and gives calmness and good mindset. Some studies mentioned the benefit of music could help the person cope financial stress because while listening to a certain music they have time to think for a money decisions. Music teaches values and lessons because of inspiring words and lyrics. It also develop talents and skills of a certain individual by tapping their feet, snapping their fingers through the tempo and rhythm. In terms of young people’s educationa­l outcomes, music stimulates the cognate aspect and sharpens the mind. It can be a therapy to help improve mental health and other mental conditions. In other words, listening to a music has a contributi­on to health and well-being that provides evidence of physical and psychologi­cal effect. Moreover, music is use in physical activity like exercises and workout because some studies found that listening to music while in the gym can boost the stamina. The role of music encourage young adults and students to engage more on exercise and other physical activities and motivate them to practice healthy lifestyle. Many people considered music as beneficial, helpful and has great influence in our lives. For others, music is like a language that can passed on from generation to generation that connects people with different beliefs and cultural background­s. It makes us closer to God through praises and worship songs.( Contribute­d article)
