Ilonggo Thirdy Ravena, San-En record 11th straight win

MANILA–I long go Ferdinand “Thirdy” Ravena III and the San-en NeoPhoenix bagged their 11th straight win in Japan B. League Division 1 after a 103-68 rout of the Nagasaki Velca over the weekend at the Nagasaki Prefectura­l Gymnasium.

The former Ateneo de Manila University Blue Eagles tallied 15 points, eight rebounds, and five assists in 26 minutes of action as the NeoPhoenix improved to 29-4 in the standings.

Sota Oura led the way with a double-double of 21 points and 11 assists; Yante Maten added 18 points; and Coty Clarke and Kosuke Kanamaru had 14 and 12 markers, respective­ly.

Matt Bonds finished with 16 points and nine rebounds, while Nick Perkins and Yudai Baba added 13 and 11 points, respective­ly, as Nagasaki dropped to 14- 19 win- loss slate.

Meanwhile, Kiefer Ravena’s offensive explosion went to waste as the Shiga Lakes bowed to the Fukushima Firebonds in overtime, 108-105, in Japan B. League Division 2 at the Shiga Daihatsu Arena.

The elder brother of Thirdy tallied 24 points, including four three-point conversion­s, to go with eight assists and four rebounds, but the Lakes still dropped to a 25-9 winloss record.

Rapolas Ivanauskas carried the fight for the Firebonds with a double- double of 27 points and 17 rebounds; Daiki Tsuchiya added 19 markers; and Takeshi Tada, Terrance King, and Taketo Tako had 14, 11, and 10 markers, respective­ly, as they moved up to 13-21.

Brock Motum top-scored for the Lakes with a doubledoub­le of 26 points and 10 rebounds, while Ryan Kriener also tallied a double-double of 21 points and 13 rebounds in the loss.

Meanwhile, Dwight Ramos provided offensive spark for

the Levanga Hokkaido ( 1023) as they bounced back against the Shinshu Brave Warriors (6-27) with a 90-56 victory in Division 1 action at the Hokkai Kita-yale.

The Gil as Pi lip in as forward connected for 18 points, including two threepoint­ers, to go with eight rebounds, four steals, two assists, and a block in an allaround effort for Hokkaido./ PN
