SENATOR IMEE MARCOS’ SMART BALANCING ACT

-

SENATOR Imee is currently navigating a complex situation, balancing her loyalty between her brother Prez BBM and her ties with the Dutertes.

For now, she has chosen to distance herself from the exchange of accusations involving drug use between her brother and former President Digong. She stays neutral in the face of these serious allegations but frankly describes the situation as “nakakaloka” (crazy) and makes it clear she does not want to be part of it But for how long can Senator Imee remain neutral?

Adding to the complexity, Davao City mayor Baste, son of Digong, publicly challenged Prez BBM to resign, although he later apologized to Inday Imee kuno. Take note, kay Senator Imee sia nag- apologize, not to Prez BBM. Tarso!

Despite the attacks against Prez BBM, Inday Imee has offered conciliatory words to the Dutertes, emphasizing the long-standing relationship between them and Marcos family. Pwerte, no?

Without an iota of doubt, Senator Imee is an astute political animal. She uses diplomatic language that does not escalate the situation. She tries hard to balance the need to express loyalty and support for her brother while recognizing and respecting her longstanding ties with the Dutertes.

Also, distancing herself from the direct conflict between her brother and the Dutertes is a smart move. This can help her avoid being drawn into the fray and potentially make her the ideal mediator to end the conflict. She could play a role in facilitating dialogue.

It is clear that Senator Imee understands that political landscapes are dynamic, and it is beneficial to manage relationships in a way that considers long-term implications.

She understands that building and maintaining bridges, rather than burning them, can be advantageous in the ever-changing world of politics. After all, the 2028 presidential election is just around the corner.

Maalam gid si Inday Imee. Very strategic ang mga diskarte.

Say mo, Inday
