‘SENATOR IMEE NA-SAMPOLAN NI DAVAO CITY MAYOR BASTE’

-

THIS LATEST EPISODE in the escalating Duterte-Marcos “word war” featuring Davao City’s Mayor Baste and Senator Imee may be summed up like this: “When you think you’re part of the group until someone says they’re just putting up with you.”

Ginkabô sang tisoyun nga Davao mayor si Senator Imee in a recent Facebook post. He did not like the lovely senator spinning tales about his apology to her after he castigated her younger brother, Prez BBM.

“Madame Imee, linawin ko lang kasi ginagamit mo na sa drama mo diyan sa media. Humingi ako ng tawad dahil naawa ako sayo, hindi dahil sa mga sinabi ko tungkol sa kapatid mo na presidente,” Mayor Baste said in a post on Feb. 3.

He was referring to Inday Imee’s ambush interview where she said that he apologized to her for saying that the President was “lazy and (lacking in) compassion.”

“Mayor Baste Duterte approached me. He apologized over and over again,” Senator Marcos told reporters.

Apparently, this did not sit well with Mayor Baste: “Undangi kog gamit ana imong mga jamming. Gipa lampas na taka kausa pero banha gihapon kayka.” This is in Bisaya, and may be roughly translated as: “Stop using me in your dramas. I let it pass once, but you’re still at it.”

According to keen political analysts, it appears that buking na ni Mayor Baste ang style ni Senator Imee.

It’s time na kuno for Inday Imee – who is widely believed to seek reelection next year – to recalibrate her strategy.

What does this very public chastisement of Senator Imee by Mayor Baste mean? The Duterte-Marcos UniTeam is on the brink?
